Will take most soils apart from soils prone to water logging in Winter. Will develop into a large shrub/small tree and likes a sunny sheltered spot. This form was bought in Cornwall 20 years ago. In 2010/11 Winter was completelyknockeddown to the ground but reshotfor us. Most other examples of this form did not survive so we are probably unique in having this form in the UK. Very deep grooves in thelarge leaves up to 1m across. Common name is rice paper plant due to the fact that rice paper was produced from it.
