Extremelythorny relative of the gooseberry. Shrub from California often found in canyons. Hairy toothed lobed leaves but the flowers are amazing tubular drooping consisting of reflexedsepals of red/purple and surrounding the white petals. Very ornamental in flower and when not an excellentbarrier. Can lose the foliage in hot dry Summer so best in humusysemishade.
