Broad strappylance shaped leaves with serrated edges forming a rounded clump at the base. Mid to late Summer very tall stout branching stems emerging bearing purple thistle like flowers at the tips which if deadheaded will make the plant contiueto flower. Nectar insect magnet and a very useful tall perennial for mid to back of border.
